ASLT Relocation Kit

The ALTS routing kit was developed for BMW KA models and is compatible with the BMW R1200GS, BMW R1200GS Adventure, BMW R1200RT, BMW R1250GS, BMW 1250GS Adventure, and BMW R1250RT. The kit relocates the original intake air temperature sensor from its stock position in the middle of the air filter box further forward into the intake air area. The reason is simple: The original sensor position can be affected by rising engine heat. This can result in temperature readings that do not accurately reflect the actual intake air in the intake area. With the ALTS relocation, the sensor is positioned more precisely where the intake air can be measured more accurately. The engine control unit operates based on various sensor data. The intake air temperature plays an important role in calculating engine control parameters. If the values are less distorted by stagnant heat or engine heat, this provides a more accurate basis for fuel mixture preparation, power delivery, and engine operation. Especially when the engine is warm, after short periods of idling, or during slow driving, the ALTS wiring configuration can help ensure that the sensor provides more stable and realistic readings. This supports more direct and performance-oriented engine control and can noticeably improve the vehicle’s performance. The original intake air temperature sensor remains in place and is simply repositioned. The kit includes the appropriate bracket, a sealing plug, and the necessary wiring and small parts. Once installed, the modification is not visible from the outside. The ALTS installation can be performed individually, but is particularly useful for vehicles with optimised engine software, for example in combination with a Engine Optimisation, Performance Increase Stage 1 or Stage 2 Performance Upgrade.
