BMW F 450 GS & F 450 RECU tuning

The F 450 GS and F 450 R are BMW’s new middleweight parallel twins. Tuning options for brand-new models take time to develop, so this page is an honest enquiry route.

About tuning the F 450 GS

What suits this motorcycle.

The F 450 GS is listed in the Boxer Tuning product finder, so accessories and equipment can be checked there, but engine-software routes (Engine Optimisation, Stage 1 and Stage 2) are not currently listed for it, and the F 450 R is not listed at all. Tell us the model, build year and what you would like to change and we will confirm what is genuinely available now, rather than guess.

What you’ll notice

Changes you can feel on the road.

This is not about filling a page with ECU terminology or promising one universal result. It is about choosing the right route for the motorcycle, its hardware and the way you ride.

A cleaner throttle connection

More natural response on the F 450 GS through technical riding, junctions and low-speed manoeuvres, with less of the abrupt on-off feel.

Stronger usable drive

More useful acceleration in the part of the rev range you actually ride in, loaded or unloaded, two-up or solo.

Matched to how you ride it

Luggage, crash bars, aftermarket exhausts and intake changes all affect a F 450 GS. The calibration is chosen around your actual setup.

Availability

Ask before you assume.

We do not currently list engine-software routes for the BMW F 450 GS & F 450 R. That is a catalogue fact, not a guess, and it may change. Send the model, year and what you would like to improve and we will tell you plainly what is possible, including modules, accessories and equipment.

No hard sell: if there is nothing suitable, we will say so.

Standard or modified?

The setup decides the route.

A standard F 450 GS will usually follow Engine Optimisation or Stage 1. Stage 2 is for motorcycles with the required supporting hardware. Tell us what is fitted; we will explain what belongs together and what does not.
